Our Work
Vocational Training & Skills Development
Practical skills for employment and self-employment - equipping orphans, vulnerable children, youth and single mothers for a sustainable future.
The challenge
Without practical skills, orphans, deaf children, vulnerable youth and single mothers face barriers to employment and remain trapped in poverty. Inclusive vocational pathways are essential for dignity and self-reliance.
Program overview
Vocational training, also known as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), prepares individuals with practical skills and knowledge for specific trades or occupations, equipping them for employment or self-employment.
KAUMA Foundation Uganda supports orphans, vulnerable children, deaf children, youths and single mothers in the community to pursue vocational training courses. The purpose of our programme is to promote self-reliance and sustainability and to prepare students and the community for gainful employment - as employees or entrepreneurs - by equipping them with necessary practical skills and knowledge.
Through vocational training we have increased employment opportunities and quicker job placements, especially where skilled trades are in demand. Vocational training also breaks down barriers to employment for individuals with disabilities, fostering a more inclusive workforce. Beneficiaries gain entrepreneurship skills that empower them to start businesses, contributing to economic growth and reducing poverty.
We cannot achieve a sustainable future without generous supporters. A tiny seed sown by each supporter can grow a beautiful garden. Join us to support vocational training for orphans, vulnerable children, youths and single mothers.
